New Home!

Well, we are all moved in!! (at least mostly) We just have a few misc. things to take care of at the condo today, and then TONS of unpacking to do at the new house. But it finally seems real! The dogs love that they have a yard to play in, and we love that we can just let them out in it to play!! The cat hasn't stopped exploring yet, and loves that there are tons of new nooks and corners to stick his head in!! We are both exhausted, despite all the wonderful help we had moving. Thanks to everyone who helped, we had a small army on Saturday and had all the furniture disassembled, downstairs, and then moved in in less than 3 hours!! Hopefully it won't take too long to get settled, and we can both take our time and relax a little before Riley comes!! Once everything has a place we'll post some pictures so that everyone can see. Dr.'s appointment for Aliy and Riley on Friday, and only a week left of school!! Sounds like we will have a busy summer too, with everyone coming to visit!! Can't wait to see everyone!!

What a Weekend!! Things are moving along quickly. Riley's room is painted, but not set up yet, mostly because we opened the box and found that one side of the crib was cracked. :( So we are going to take it back today. But the green looks really good.

As you can see, Cam did most of the work, I did the corners and along the trim!! We now have about 1/2 of our belongings (minus furniture) at the house. And are anxiously waiting for our new refrigerator to be delivered (because ours at the condo went out this weekend, and so we are eating out of our tiny cooler this week!!) Hopefully it will come on Friday. Then we move everything that's left on Saturday, and have to have the condo cleaned out by Monday, so that our landlord can show it on Tuesday. So I get to spend this week packing everything else up!! We really picked the best time to do this though - I finished my service project class this past weekend, and don't have finals for another 2 weeks, so I have the down time from school to focus on the house! I think the dogs are getting anxious too - They have become more rambunctious than usual, and a trip to the dog park didn't help any!

We only have one more week of our childbirthing classes left, and a little over a month until the due date!! As long as I go into labor after this weekend (36 weeks), I can deliver at the new hospital in Loveland (which is slightly closer to the new house). And let me tell you - I feel like I'm ready any day now!!

34 1/2 weeks

Doctor's appointment today went well. Some more tests run, everything seems to be normal and going well. Dr. said at the next visit she would check to make sure he is head down, which I am positive he is, since every night he kicks me in the ribs like a pro! And after all that walking around this weekend he dropped too! I'll try to get some pictures this weekend (when we have some time), but my belly is definately lower, and more sloped on top. He has become very heavy, and I have to pee about every 20 min.!! But I can breathe easier, and sitting in class is more pleasant (except for all the potty breaks!). Not to mention that the heartburn has been cut almost in half!! Which helps with sleeping (slightly). On the downside though I am starting to swell a bit. Nothing real noticable or uncomfortable, and usually only at the end of the day or when I get too hot. My feet haven't been too bad, most of the swelling has been in my hands and wrists, which is making school a blast with all the note-taking and typing!! Thank goodness there are only two weeks left after this week!! Yeah!
Cam is putting painter's tape in the new house as we speak, and we are planning on painting Riley's room starting Friday night. So hopefully everything will be set up by Sunday or early next week. Then we can focus on packing next week, since the plan is to move next weekend. So much to do and so little time to do it!!

Things are going good!! We went to Rocky Mountain National Park today, probably our last time as a childless couple. As you can see it was still snowy in areas, and Trail Ridge Road is still closed, but we had fun anyways!! Aliy even walked all the way around Bear Lake!! (approx. 3/4 of a mile) Walking and exercising seems to be doing her good, as hard as it is. It takes her longer, and takes more energy, but she feels better throughout the day and sleeps better at night. At her last massage, the doula told her she needed to be doing more light exercising and stretching to loosen her hips muscles.

Riley is still a little maniac!! He doesn't move quite as vigorously as he has been, but just as often. He's settling into a sleeping pattern, being awake and active usually around 10, 1, 6 and 9 throughout the day, and at least around 3 in the morning. We are hoping to get his room painted this week, and then get everything set up and organized for him soon after. We've decided on a pale green to go with the Safari theme. (that way if Aliy decides to do a mural this summer - if there's more time - the grass base is already there!) But we are still arguing over window treatments! We just know that we need something to block the light - the window in his room is on the East, and is VERY bright in the mornings until at least 11, which also makes the room very warm.

Aliy has another appointment this Wednesday, and hopefully Cam will get to come too. Then in May we start 1-a-week-ers. Aliy also only has 3 Weeks of classes left - yeah!! - and then Finals the 2nd week of May. Let's hope Riley holds out until at least then!!

Downhill slope!

Almost 33 weeks now. And things have passed uncomfortable and ventured into miserable! Everything is harder to do now, especially things that require an arms length of space (washing your hands, doing dishes, reaching things across the table) because my "arms length" has been cut in half. Not to mention that the use of my ab muscles has all but disappeared. Simple things like rolling from my left side to my right in bed require enough space for a beached whale to roll over. Stairs are like climbing 14ers, and I have given up on tying my shoes. I think Riley hit a growth spurt this week, because he has become very heavy, and almost painful when he tries to stretch and move. Whenever he stuck a foot or knee out I could usually push on it and make him tuck it back in, now he just sticks it out somewhere else!! It has become a game for us - kinda like bopping the gophers! Even the nurse has a hard time with him wiggling. It took her almost 5 min. to get a reading on his heart beat because he kept moving away or kicking it! But I guess active is good!!
We've started packing things up, and will probably start moving things over to the new house this weekend. Our goal is to have Riley's room ready by next weekend, just in case!! We also have pediatricians appointments lined up, so the next few weeks will be exciting!

Have a Happy Easter Everyone!!
