Happy Spring (I think)!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful spring so far!  We are, although it's not really feeling like spring right now.  In typical Colorado fashion we are getting more snow in March and April than we did all winter!  We've had 2 blizzard warnings in the last couple weeks, Riley had his first snow day off school last Tuesday, and we are expecting more snow this week!  Crazy Colorado weather!  One day it's 70, the next it's snowing with 30 mph winds making the wind chill below 0!!

Last week was Mommy's Birthday!  Happy Birthday Mommy!!!  She had a great Birthday!  (I can say that because I'm the one writing this!  hehe)  It really was a nice birthday!  I got to have lunch with some of my closest friends (and another offered to watch Jayce for me - so it truly was a relaxing lunch!!)  Cam made dinner for me (which really isn't anything new, he's been cooking a lot these days) and a CAKE!!  It was so yummy!!  He had the thought to put raspberries on top, and it really added to the taste.  I liked it a lot!  Thank you Cameron!

And also I got a FABULOUS GIFT!!!  A Kindle Fire!!  Yay!!!  I have been wanting one for a while now, and I love it!  Rarely do I have time to sit down at the computer to do anything (as you can probably tell from my lack of posting lately) so I usually end up checking email/surfing the internet/updating and documenting things via facebook on my phone while I'm sitting on the couch nursing Amara or in between playing and yelling at the boys.  And it's not that easy to do on a little 3 inch screen, so having the Kindle to be able to do that stuff on on a daily basis is going to be so nice!!!  Plus, I already have a few books downloaded that transferred over to it, so I'm looking forward to reading some books again!!  (when and if I ever find the time!)  Other bonuses - it will work like a second dvd player in the car for the kiddos when needed, they can play games on it, we can Skype with Grandma Wilson on it, we can read my Pinterest recipes easier when we are cooking (rather than my tiny phone screen!!) and so much more!  Thank you Cam for my wonderful Kindle!!!

Then last night we went out to see a movie.  It was my first time leaving Amara with a sitter, and she still hasn't taken to a bottle (we haven't pushed it that much though) so I fed her and put her down before we left.  It was a little nerve-wreaking for me not knowing if she was going to wake up, but she slept the entire time and was great.  Thank goodness she prefers going to bed early (almost 6:30 last night) and can sleep through the noisy boys!

Last weekend as part of my birthday present to myself, I went out with some girlfriends for a girl's night out.  I've been dying to try one of those painting and wine things (more for the painting than the wine!) and I finally got to do it - now I"m Hooked!!!  There's a place nearby that does it, Picasso & Wine it's called, and I really like them!  They offer tea as an alternative to wine (perfect for me!!), and your first glass/cup is free, unlike some of the other places around here.  It's a great laid back setting, they teach you how to do the painting you are working on for that class, and it's just a lot of fun!!  The painting we did was called Kisses from Heaven, and the instructor showed us all how to personalize it with the little kid to match our own kids if we wanted.  It was so neat to see how everyone's painting was the same, yet so different to match our own styles and personalities.  I can't wait to do it again - and yes, I'm going to do it again!  I love painting, I'm just not really good at it, so to have a little extra instruction makes me more comfortable and satisfied with the painting.

Other news - Riley had his first official Sleepover!!!  He invited Greg to spend the night and the boys had a great time!  They got to play twister, and battleship, and even a little Wii!  They were perfect angels, and went right to sleep when it was time for bed (Riley even let Greg sleep on the top bunk, so sweet!), and then we had waffles in the morning!  Riley has been asking for another sleepover, so I feel like I've just woken a giant!  But with three kids, I know this is only the beginning!

Well, not much else going on around here.  Things are starting to calm down for a few weeks.  Bible Study is over, MOPS is almost over, and so is school.  So I'm just enjoying the lax in activities before the craziness of summer starts up.  I'm hoping to do a lot with the kids this summer to keep them busy, hiking, playdates, swimming lessons, so I'm just hoping I don't overdo it!  lol.  But with Amara being so easy to take anywhere, and Jayce and Riley having so much energy to burn off, it's going to have to be a fun filled summer!  Speaking of the three munchkins . . . I'll leave you with some pictures from the last couple weeks:
Riley wants to hold Amara, but not have his picture taken with her!
