Blizzard!!

Well, We are experiencing our first Colorado Blizzard!! Winds in Fort Collins are gusting up to 45 miles per hour, and we are expecting up to 3 feet of snow by tomorrow afternoon. It started slow this morning, with strong wind and icy snow, but it has steadily gotten worse. Looking out our patio door you can no longer see the houses across the field. The wind is horrilby noisy, and snow is piling up in drifts in front of our patio door and front door (where we rarely get snow!) Everything is white as far as you can see (which is not very far.) They say we here in Fort Collins may not see the full 2-3 feet because of the slightly lower elevations systems tend to skip over us a bit, but we will definately get around a foot.
The highways are closed south of Denver to New Mexico, and east of Denver to Kansas. Also, 80 is closed in Wyoming and Nebraska. DIA has all but shut down with United and Frontier cancelling almost all flights, and the airport fears running out of food. Hotels in Denver are full, and Semi-trucks in the Metro area are required to use chains! It's a different experience for us. Cam is on his way home from work early, and naturally wants to venture out and play tonight!! We'll see!!
Looks like everything should clear enough for us to still make our way to Indy for Christmas as scheduled on Friday, but if not we'll just take our time, maybe arriving a day late. As much as we hate driving with possible weather conditions, right now it seems better than sitting in DIA waiting for a flight after all the stranded folks find new flights. It is really pretty outside though, and my mom has already told me that she is jealous - just because we have snow and they have none!! Hope to see everyone soon, and Have a Merry Christmas!!
