I was going to wait to share these until tomorrow, since it's so late, but I can't! I'm just so excited!!! So yes, it's 11:00 at night and I'm updating the blog. ;)
We had such a great weekend this weekend!! Riley had today (Monday) and last Friday off school, so we had a nice little "Fall Break". We had expected to do something special as a family this weekend, and so Cam took those days of work too. But not thinking, I had planned some (a lot) of MOPS events for Friday and kinda shot the idea of going some where as a family out the window. But it all worked out for the better. We still spent a lot of time together as a family, and had a great time doing it!
Friday we took out annual trip to our favorite pumpkin patch! Anderson's Patchwork Pumpkins. The boys had a blast picking out their pumpkins, riding the hayride, and running through the hay maze. Of course they picked out the biggest pumpkins they could find, and luckily this year Daddy was with us and could carry them all for us! I also made some matching pumpkin outfits for the kids. My talented seamstress friend made a cute little orange and black dress for Amara, and I wanted to stencil a pumpkin face on it. Then I thought I could do t-shirts for the boys too! So I did. I even bought some glow in the dark paint and painted it over the black. (They don't glow really bright, but they do glow, and of course the boys think it's the coolest thing ever!! SCORE!!) So I had them wear their Jack-o-lantern shirts to the pumpkin patch. So Cute for Pictures!!

Jayce and Riley found a fuzzy friend |
We bought a couple extra pumpkins this year, because later that day we went to my favorite painting place and painted them! It was so fun! Riley painted his in a Bronco's Theme (bleh, I know) and Jayce just Painted his!! It was so funny, I let him pick out the colors and then he promptly mixed them all together to put on the pumpkin!! But it was cute, and they had So much Fun, how could I say No!!

Then later that night we dropped the kids off at church for the monthly Parent's Night Out, and headed out! We went to dinner, and then on a walking Ghost Tour of Fort Collins. It was really interesting. I learned a lot of historical things about Fort Collins, mostly the gruesome details that nobody wants to believe, but still interesting! It was fun.
Saturday was a Lazy Day for Jayce, Amara and I. Daddy and Riley went to Elitch Gardens (Denver's poor excuse for an amusement park. And I can say that truthfully having grown up with yearly trips to Kings Island and Cedar Point). But Riley had a blast!!! Cam was able to get him on a few of the bigger coasters and he LOVED it!! Daddy kept trying to get him to go on an upside down coaster, but Riley wasn't having it - smart boy! I am proud of him for being brave and trying new things though. :) I have a feeling we won't be able to keep him away now!
Sunday was another lazy day. I took a couple trips to the Poudre River Trail near us in Windsor. I wanted to check out the lighting at different times to see when I wanted to do pictures. Because that's what we did today. I've been psyching myself up to do some family photos. The kids are old enough now to sit still and smile when I ask (most of the time), and so I thought I would attempt to save some money and forgo paying a pricey photographer who crams you into their schedule. It was nice. I planned it on my time, a day we could all do it together, when the light was good, and the kids were not so crabby. I took my time planning and prepping (many hours spend on pinterest searching and making a cheat sheet with ideas for poses). And it all went smoothly!!! I was so surprised at how well the kids did!! I didn't do any individual shots of them, but that's ok. We can do those one at a time, over the next few days. (that's the beauty of doing them yourself - you can do it over multiple days). They only lasted about an hour before it became too difficult, which I figured. But they did so awesome, and I got quite a few really good photos!! I'm so Happy!!! That's why I'm on here so late, I just had to share!! So here you are, enjoy! (and don't be surprised if a few of these end up on the Christmas Cards this year! ;)
