Today we went to play and have a picnic on the Cache la Poudre River with Grandma and Grandpa and cousin Caitlyn. Here's some pictures of Riley's first trip up the Canyon to the river.

Grandma & Grandpa Louie are visiting this week from Indy. We have had a lot of fun already!! We went to Rocky Mountain National Park, and Riley got to play in the snow for the first time!!
Well, maybe just be in the snow for a little bit (It was really sunny, and he was asleep!!) More fun too come!! Grandma Wilson visits next week - Yeah!!

First bottle!!

Riley got his first bottle tonight!! It wasn't a lot - because it was just a test run to see if he would take it, and he did great!! Granted he had just slept for 3 hours and was VERY hungry, but he took it. Cam was excited to get to feed him, and Aliy was excited to get a short break!! (although pumping almost took longer than feeding!) Hopefully this can become a evening routine.

Happy Father's Day!! Cam is enjoying his First Father's Day with his new son! Our BBQ Friday night was a lot of fun, and Riley behaved so well. Everyone was impressed with what a good baby he is. Well, that and all of his hair!! Things are still going great. He's still eating almost every hour when he's up, and sleeping in 4 -6 hour shifts. He has started getting fussy in the afternoons, before Daddy gets home from work. It seems to be that he's just tired and won't relax enough to go to sleep, so we are working on that. We are all excited - Grandma and Grandpa Louie, and cousin Caitlyn are coming to visit this weekend!! And then Grandma Wilson the weekend after! (along with "Uncle Tim", and some other visitors!!) Lot's of exciting times ahead, pictures to come!!

Hi Everyone! Things are still going great for our new family! Riley is eating like a champ, about every hour and a half during the day (with a few breaks for naps), and sleeping like a dream!! He has fallen into a regular routine, waking up only at 10, 2:30 and 6:30. I hope I don't jinx it, because it is wonderful!! He is quite the little angel!! We went on some outings this weekend, doing some shopping on Saturday, and a trip to the nursery for some landscaping stuff on Sunday. And once again he was a perfect angel!! Of course he was the center of attention, though, with everyone asking how old he is and commenting on his hair!! I have a sling to carry him in, and that has proven to be a life saver! I love it!! He's close to me, so he doesn't fuss. And I still have both hands free without having to hold him or a car seat. And naturally everyone wants to see what I have in my "pouch". We are having a BBQ/Get together this Friday night for anyone who lives here and wants to meet Riley and see our new house. If you can come please do, just give Cam or I a call for directions. We are so excited to show him off, because he truely is the highlight of our lives!! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful baby!! (But what mother doesn't feel that way!!)

Riley lost his cord today!! Now he has a nice little innie!! Things are still going great!! He's eating and sleeping wonderfully (6 hours straight last night!!) And the nurse at Wee Steps yesterday said his jaundice is still within the normal range, and that as long as it is improving or not getting worse that he should do fine. She also noted how healthy of an eater he is. apparently newborns can lose up to 10% of their birth weight in the first week, but he has lost less than 1%. So he must take after Daddy (the bottomless pit). Yesterday evening he was feeding almost every hour! I spent most of the morning taking pictures of him!! He is such a cutie!! Here's a couple of the better ones!

I'm Practicin' For all The Ladies

We are surviving!! The first couple of nights were kinda rough - which was to be expected!! Especially night 2 - Riley was very fussy, and wouldn't hush enough to even feed him untill around 1. But he made up for it last night when he was a perfect angel!! He woke up to fed every three hours (almost to the minute), and only fussed a bit - never cried. Then he would feed and go right back to sleep!! We both slept wonderfully!! Let's hope this lasts!! We made a call to the doctor Sunday night because he's jaundiced, but the he didn't seem too worried. We have a WeeSteps appointment (breastfeeding support at the hospital) tomorrow, so they will look at him then. So don't be too alarmed - any pictures taken in the next couple of weeks he will look pretty yellow. But he's still as cute as ever!!

Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday to Riley Kenchow Louie!! He was born on May 31, 2007 at 11:34 pm. He weighed in at 7 lbs. and 4 oz., and 19 1/2 inches long!! He looks just like his Daddy, and has a full head of long dark hair! Aliy was in labor for 27 hours (from the first contraction), and things went very smoothly. He is a very healthy little man, and we couldn't be happier!! We are all at home now, resting and recooperating. Here's some pictures for everyone to enjoy, we are still working on getting an album together, and will post the link on the right when it's all done!! Thanks to everyone for all their thoughts and prayers!! We are a Happy Family!!
